Phil's mother Jimmie Sue was married to a man who served in th e military and in 1948, during the Korean War, he was called u p for active duty.
While he was away Jimmie Sue and her husband's best friend Clift on Edwin Griffin became involved (he too was married). She becam e pregnant with Clifton's child. When her husband returned she t ried convince him that the child she was carrying was his. Well , he figured things out and realized that the child could not b e his. He learned the truth and left her while pregnant and late r they divorced. The truth about this child was never revealed t o anyone other than she and her husband as well as Clifton and h is wife. Her family of course knew.
Years passed and Jimmie Sue married again. Her husband later ado pted Phil giving him the Sessions name. However he was always to ld he was the son of her first husband. Somehow for whatever rea son he questioned that through the years and the story she told . After his mother passed away in November of 2000, Phil began a sking questions. One of his Aunts revealed the truth to Phil an d a cousin had the name of his biological father. That is wher e our search began.
Computer searches brought us back to the place he was born. We t hen found a son thinking it was his father. He spoke with the so n they call Eddie. He was very open minded especially as we exch anged pictures and they saw as well as we how much Phil actuall y looked like his biological father. However they needed more. P hil came up with information that they did not even know the spe cifics on but had heard of in the past. Their was only one perso n left, Clifton's wife Anne, who could confirm this truth that P hil was the son of Clifton Griffin. The son Eddie had told her a bout Phil and she confirmed that his father and Jimmie Sue did h ave a son together. Unfortunately this had been a secret burie d for years that they thought would never reveal itself at leas t while they were alive and was a bit upsetting to her as we ca n imagine.
But that is the story and his biological father is Clifton Edwi n Griffin. Hence, Philip Wayne Griffin Sessions.
